CAPACITY OF THE ORGANISATION

a) Infrastructure

All the 20 units of RUDSET Institute are equipped with infrastructure facilities to conduct residential training programmes. All the seven centres in Karnataka are well equipped with owned exhaustive infrastructure required for conducting residential training programme for more than 100 persons at a time including;

  • Classrooms
  • Workshed
  • Dormitories
  • Library
  • Kitchen and dining hall
  • Guesthouses to guest faculties
  • Training equipments including audio-visual aids like multimedia projector, OHP, slide projector, book projector, TV and Video etc.
  • Open space and well-maintained garden to create the ambience of a residential training.

In Karnataka, all the 7 units have acquired owned campus with the financial assistance from Government of Karnataka to the tune of Rs.1.90 Crores from Dept. of Industries & Commerce and Rs.184.3 lakhs from Department of Rural Development and Panchayath Raj.

b) Resource Persons

Directors and Joint Directors of the Institute, the officers deputed from sponsor banks, possess rich experience in development banking, rural development and administration. These officers supported by in-house faculty are handling behavioural inputs, managerial inputs, banking, launching formalities etc. in EDP training, Human Resource Development, women empowerment, SHG management and rural development aspects. All these officers are exposed to professional training in Entrepreneurship Development and Management in reputed organisations like NIESBUD, NIBM, ANSSIRD etc. Besides this, every Institute has a panel of qualified and experienced resource persons drawn from technical, entrepreneurial, professional, social and other fields. Skill training is imparted by the expert practitioners in the respective field, who provide their services out of social concern. Most of these experts are RUDSETI trained entrepreneurs.

c) Course Modules

Training modules of RUDSET Institute are so designed that the Entrepreneurship Development is achieved through Human Resource Development. The course modules structured out of practical experience, research and experiment facilitate development of the necessary skills in a systematic manner in a short period. The training modules of EDP/Skill development programmes of RUDSET Institute have been accepted as standard modules by the funding agencies such as SIDBI, NABARD, Department of Industries and Commerce, KSWDC etc. It is the practice of RUDSET Institute to review these course modules on an ongoing basis and revise and update them. The Institute has designed standard course modules for the following training programmes also:

  • Programmes to Rural Development workers on their role, responsibilities, SHG management and Entrepreneurship Development.
  • Programme to SHG leaders and SHG members on women empowerment and SHG management and Entrepreneurship Development.
  • HRD programme to functionaries of developmental agencies, Banks and NGOs.

d) Training Methodology

The widely acclaimed effectiveness of RUDSET Institute's training is attributed to the unique training methodology adopted. Through structured psychological exercises, the participants are stimulated to shed inhibitions and develop interest in learning. Besides lecture sessions, behaviour simulation games, exercises, field visits, hands on experience, interaction with role models, interface with supporting system, group discussions, role play, case study etc. are effectively used in the training. Training sessions are conducted in vernacular languages.

e) Committed Staff and Training Atmosphere

Under the guidance of visionary leadership, the committed workforce of the Institute has successfully created a conducive atmosphere for learning. Cordial trainer-trainee relationship, discipline and personal guidance for personality development and socialisation with fellow trainees offers excellent scope for effective learning.

f) Sensitised supporting system

Through excellent liaison with various Govt. departments, developmental agencies, banks and networking with other NGOs, RUDSET Institute has been able to provide support to the trained entrepreneurs for establishing their ventures.

g) Past experience

Under the stewardship of visionary leader and aided by total support from the sponsors, RUDSET institute has successfully executed challenging assignments and conducted innovative experiments in Rural Development.

h) Administration system

Besides well-designed course modules, the Institute is guided by administrative manual for systematic conduct of the activities. Well-defined service conditions and staff policy is also adopted. Each Institute is subjected to internal management audit every year and financial audits by statutory auditors.

RUDSETI APPROACH IN DEVELOPING ENTREPRENEURS

  1. A carefully designed selection process to identify and select only interested and potential youths taking in to account their interest and aptitude.
  2. Suitably designed programme schedules keeping in view the absorption level and future requirements of the candidate.
  3. Use of experiential learning, group discussion, and field level experience and participation methods to impart training.
  4. Use of market survey, interface with entrepreneurs and other techniques to acquaint trainee with field level situation.
  5. Provision for technical training wherever needed.
  6. Close and systematic follow up and monitoring system after the training so as to provide post training Counselling, support and liaison services.

Keeping in view the fact that most of the unemployed youth are from poor/middle class rural families, who are already burdened financially, entire training is provided free of cost including free boarding and lodging.
